Inertia
Definition
Inertia is the natural tendency of an object to resist any change in its state of rest or motion.
Summary:
- An object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an external force.
- An object in motion continues moving at the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an external force.
- The greater the mass of an object, the greater its inertia.
- This concept is described in the First Law of Motion by Isaac Newton, also known as the Law of Inertia.
